What You're Paying
We used to add a service fee at checkout. We stopped. Everything we charge is now built into the menu price you see before you order, so the number you're looking at is the number you're paying — plus delivery, which goes to your driver.
Delivery Orders
In the price
Menu prices on delivery orders include everything Food KAB charges — order processing, live tracking, customer support, card processing, and keeping the platform running. There is no service fee line at checkout. What you'll see added is the delivery fee, which goes entirely to your driver, and tax.

Pickup Orders

Pickup costs less, and the prices reflect it — pickup menu prices carry a noticeably smaller markup than delivery, because there's no driver to pay and no delivery operation behind it. On top of that there's a flat $1.00 takeout fee per order, no matter how large the order is. That's the only line added at checkout besides tax.
Ordering From Somewhere We Don't List
We focus our menu on the local restaurants we partner with directly, so their prices, hours and sold-out items are always accurate. For everywhere else, there's Pick & Drop.
Pick & Drop
$4.50
You order and pay the restaurant directly — their app, their website, their real prices — then tell us where to grab it. We charge a flat $4.50 service fee plus the same distance-based delivery fee, and a driver brings it to you.
Because you're buying straight from the restaurant, we don't mark up the food at all — you pay their menu price, see what's actually in stock, and your own rewards and app deals still count.
Good to Know
Our fees are inside the menu price — and we'd rather say so. Menu prices on Food KAB are higher than what you'd pay standing at the counter. That difference is our fee, and it covers card processing, our platform, and the cost of running a delivery service in a small market. We're not allowed to break card processing out as its own line at checkout, and stacking four separate fees on your total never made anything clearer anyway. So it's one price, stated up front. Compare our total to anyone else's and we think you'll stay.
10% off delivery, seven days a week. Our click-to-apply delivery discount is available every day, to every customer — no first-order restriction, no strings. It doesn't apply itself, so tap the banner on the restaurant's page before you check out.
Delivery fee goes straight to your driver. The delivery fee is the one charge we still show as its own line, because it changes with distance. It goes 100% to your driver — Food KAB doesn't take a cent of it. It's $4 for the first 5 miles, then $0.75/mile from 5–10 miles and $1.50/mile beyond 10 miles, capped at $40.
How our partner restaurants pay us. We charge partner restaurants a 5% commission on their sales — a fraction of the 15–30% the national apps take, and capped so a busy month never punishes them for it. Some partners choose to absorb that themselves; others ask us to reflect it in menu prices. Either way it's a real cost of getting your food to you, and we'd rather explain it than pretend it doesn't exist.
Our drivers earn real pay — not $2 like the other guys. While apps like UberEats and DoorDash pay drivers a $2 base, Food KAB pays $4 for deliveries up to 5 miles, then $0.75–$1.50 per mile after that — before your tip. That's how we attract drivers who actually care about your order.
Scheduling ahead genuinely helps. Especially on Pick & Drop, which is a dedicated trip made just for your order. Telling us when you want it means a driver is lined up and waiting instead of being found on the fly — and it usually means your food arrives sooner.

We're not here to maximize fees — we're here to build something great for our community. Right now, what we build into menu prices covers the real costs of running Food KAB in a small market: payment processing, driver support, customer service, servers, and continued development. At our size, those costs are spread across far fewer orders than a national app has.
But this isn't where we want to stay. Every order spreads those fixed costs a little thinner. Our goal is to grow to a volume where menu prices sit much closer to what you'd pay walking in the door — and to get the takeout fee to zero.
